TUCO Calypso Gala 2018

On Wednesday 28th November 2018, the Trinbagonian Unified Calypsonians Organisation (TUCO) held their annual Gala and Awards ceremony at Queen’s Hall, St. Ann’s, Port of Spain. The occasion, which also marked the twenty-fifth silver anniversary of the organization, was held under the distinguished patronage of Her Excellency Paula-Mae Weekes, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. This event, which was well attended by members of the calypso fraternity, shareholders in the industry and their guests, included a cocktail reception, presentations of awards and performances by calypsonians in celebration of Calypso History Month. Recipients of awards included calypsonians and other main contributors to the business of Trinidad and Tobago culture. The show was hosted by Meagan Sylvester and Omari Ashby. Music for the evening was provided by Len Cummings and the Wailers with The Pips chorus.
